HBR will be raffling off this beautiful quilt this Boydton Day!

The front of this queen size quilt was made by Gary Crutchfield, and the quilting was done by Colette Boring.

You can get your ticket(s) for the raffle at Town Hall, from an HBR member, at Olde Lamps and Thangs, and at The Quilter's Nook!

$1 per ticket!

Boydton's Birthday Party

On Friday, February 3rd. the Town will begin celebrating its 200 years.

For the week beginning January 30 (or any time before) put candles in your window. 

Then on the 3rd, ring bells at 2:00 PM.

You'll see our home-schooled children in the upstairs windows of the town hall ringing bells along with the churches and the courthouse.  Did you know the bell at the Methodist Church was brought from Randolph Macon College?

From 2:30 until 5:30 come to the Boyd Tavern for a taste of one of the twenty cakes being served. 

Happy Birthday Boydton!!!  What a great couple of centuries!

 
 
 

Boydton, Virginia, the county seat of Mecklenburg County, is located, approximately, in the center of the county on U.S. Highway 58. Norfolk is 140 miles to the east, Richmond is 95 miles northeast, Danville is 60 miles west, and Raleigh, North Carolina, is 80 miles south.
