The Corporation is charged with revitalizing the town by enticing the new commercial interests through streetscape improvements, elimination of all blighting influences, restoration of building fronts, and filling currently vacant buildings with attractive retail outlets. An active Economic Restructuring & Development Committee is working hard to bring all of this to pass.

HBR, Inc. Tapping into the Tourist Industry

Restoring the historical appeal of the town is a vital part of the overall effort of HBR, Inc. Walking tours throughout the town, building a replica of the old Boydton Plank Road, enhancing and featuring the old historic buildings, from the 1842 Court House to the 1820 Boydton Presbyterian Church and the 1790 Boyd Tavern along with the 180 other historic structures in town, are aspects of the town which will help to develop a strong tourist draw.
